Jed Terrell, Bass
Greetings and salutations. Welcome to the "Bios" section of the website. This is where I'm supposed to tell you a little about myself. I've been playing bass since I was 11 years old. My earliest influences include, but not limited to, composer John Williams (Star Wars), RUSH (I love RUSH), Triumph and Yes. Later on in high school, I had an early fascination with thrash and speed metal which found me in area bands opening for national recording artists such as Anti-seen and Jane's Addiction. During my college years, I expanded my musical horizons to include jazz, progressive rock and classical music. In the 90's, I was the bass player for a progressive rock band called Velocet. We were together for 7 years and recorded 2 studio albums: "Like Clockwork" and "Watershed". We were 1 of 3 bands chosen out of 198 to perform in the Yamaha Soundcheck Music Showcase in Charlotte. While in this band, I was heavily influenced by Geddy Lee (RUSH), Chris Squire (Yes), and Tony Levin (King Crimson). When I felt that I had gone as far as I could with Velocet, I quit to do 6 off-broadway performances of The Who's "Tommy". What an education that was! In 2005, I became involved in a contemporary Christian band called Jacob's Ladder (of which I am still a member). That is when I met David Barrier of SoundBarrier. They were looking for a bass player and he invited me to come and play for them. I've been in the band since 2006. Well, that's enough about me. How about you?
